Radiation particles are spewing into the atmosphere from the uranium rods at reactor No4 ― left a pile of rubble by a series of explosions following last week's earthquake and tsunami.

The rods are usually stored in a 45ft deep storage pool filled with water ― but the raging fires at the plant have boiled them dry.
